So I sold the Amiga 500.
And bought an A500 Mini.
Just quick review on it, as there are oodles of full reviews out there.
Its tiny. Smaller than it looks in review videos. But the detail on it is fantastic, with the keyboard (for looks only), disc drive etc.
Does not come with a power adaptor, however runs happily off my powerbank via USBC-C.
The supplied joypad and mouse are nice enough to use, but smaller than the originals they are based on.
Included games are great, however some do require a keyboard – just plug in any USB keyboard.
For two player games, most will need a second controller – seems to be some hit and miss on compatibility with 3rd party ones, but I picked up a basic SNES clone USB joypad for $10 odd at Jaycar, which seems to work fine.
Not tried WHDLoad games yet, but have heard that some dont work, but most do. However will find over time these will be sorted either by individual game fixes, or firmware fix for the A500 itself.
Anyone, its time for…. Ice Cream, Ice Cream…..
